Talking with Scott was an exercise in hearing someone who loves the game of baseball, and can provide a fresh appreciation of how dangerous it can be. He relays this tragic story with an amazing dignity, and just being only a few pages in (I got the book late) I can tell you it looks like it's gonna be quite a ride, like when Thome hits one on the sweet spot from a rookie pitcher young enough to be his kid. Anyone who wants to really get a feel for what life in the Minors is like for these guys and their families, should read it. For that matter...anyone who loves baseball should read it.
